About Me
Hello! My name is Elandya and I love to help students find fun ways to learn!
A little bit about myself: I am a Forensic Chemist. Before you click away, yes, I know what I am doing. I am the daughter of an elementary teacher and a middle school to high school teacher, a granddaughter of a superintendent and teachers, a niece of multiple teachers, a cousin to two newly graduated teachers…I can’t escape teachers in my life!

Since I’m surrounded on all sides by teachers, I picked up a thing or two. Every year, for as long as I can remember, my parents took me to their classroom at the beginning of the school year to help them decorate and get ready for their students. My father is simple. As long as the information he needed was on the bulletin boards, it was fine for his middle school/ high school students. My mother, on the other hand, taught elementary grades. This is where I shined the brightest.
In high school is when I first realized I had a gift. My mother wanted something fresh to decorate her classroom with. When I did some research, I realized that the possibilities were endless. I thought up themes for her classroom like ocean, jungle, garden, Dr. Suess, and so much more! I’ve been helping her come up with ideas for over 15 years!
When Covid-19 hit, my mother went online and she was so nervous. She wanted a way to incorporate fun and new things that she can do to keep the classroom alive, even though they were meeting virtually. She came home one day and told me about Bitmoji classrooms. Before the sun went down, I had worked up a virtual classroom that was useful but also cute for her first grade class. She was so impressed at how fast and how well I accomplished this task.
As time went on, some of her coworkers was talking about virtual field trips and how to get the students to feel as though they were actually traveling and exploring different places. She told me about this idea and I took it and ran! My first field trip was to the zoo. Her first graders loved seeing all the animals, exploring and learning. I made lots of field trips, from France, to Japan, to Disney! Oh My Goodness! Those students had so much fun! Some backed a little travel bag and showed the class what they brought over Zoom. They had bought special foods to try. They loved the stories, the songs, the videos, the sights. Students, teachers, parents, were all just so surprised at how much the students learned and had so much fun!
I started to develop more and more. I started creating more resources in a variety of subjects from math to science to language arts to Bible. My mother’s students were my test subjects and I tailored my resources to be student approved!
I hope you enjoy my array of resources. I surely enjoyed making them! Please let me know how you like them and how your students work with them. Your feedback is what keeps my materials updated and fun for all!
